With summer fast approaching, it might be time for your garden to get the spruce it deserves. You might be an avid party thrower, or simply want a serene place to relax in, you have all the reason to give your garden a little tidy. Our 5 simple tips will help you get prepared for the summer months. Keep reading to find out more!

Spring Cleaning

Start by making things a little more tidy. This is the perfect opportunity to get rid of any rubbish, garden waste, toys…etc. Or find a proper home for some of your garden items. After you’ve given your garden the once over, it may already start to look a little better. Try raking up any leaves and clearing the borders of your garden to make it look a little neater.

Weeding

This is one of the more tedious jobs, but it is a great way to keep things looking fresh and clean. Getting rid of weeds in your borders will definitely help to tidy up your garden.

If you want your weeds to stay gone, you can buy weed treatments and killing sprays to ensure that invasive plant species don’t make their way into your garden again.

A Lick Of Paint

If you have wooden furniture items, planters or raised beds, a great way to improve how they look is a fresh lick of paint. They might be looking a little worse for wear, but a quick paint job can breathe a new lease of life into them. Natural colours will complement the natural greens in your garden, and if you’re looking for a bust of colour you could try something more vibrant.

Pick a nice sunny day to paint your furniture so it can dry nice and quickly!

Lawn Care

If your lawn is well overdue for a mow, now is the perfect time. A quick trim can immediately make your garden look tidier. Don’t be afraid to strim your borders to get them into tip-top shape too!

New Plants

If you’re ready for some fresh colours and interesting plants to look at, it could be time to invest in some new greenery. Flowers are a great way to introduce colour and encourage an abundance of wildlife like bees and butterflies. Alternatively, shrubs and new saplings can fill out your garden and make it more presentable.
